Senior Drinking Water Engineer

SGM is seeking a full-time senior-level engineer to lead SGM’s drinking water-focused team in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This position requires a degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering and at least ten years of experience in drinking water quality and treatment and/or water distribution modeling. Overall responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and project management for drinking water projects, mentoring and supervising junior engineers, and fostering strong client relationships and developing new business. Roadway Engineer or Designer

Our Glenwood office is currently seeking a Roadway Engineer/Designer to join our Transportation Design Team. The Transportation Design Team specializes in all types of transportation design projects, typically for public sector clients.

The ideal candidate will proficiently complete or perform the following tasks:

  • Design of streets, highways, intersections, roundabouts, shared-use trails and all related features
  • Production of plan sheets for a typical roadway design project
  • Development of Specification and Estimate packages
  • Use of design criteria and guidelines, such as:

SGM is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. Our projects consist of a diverse mix from the municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential arenas.

Minimum qualifications for the successful candidate are:

  • Current Colorado PE license (out of state PE licenses may be considered provided the candidate has the capability to acquire an in-state license within 6 months of hire)
  • Experience in electrical design of power, lighting and low voltage systems for commercial buildings

Municipal Engineering Team Leader

SGM is currently seeking a Municipal Engineering Team Leader for our Glenwood Springs office. The roles and responsibilities of a consulting municipal engineer vary depending on the type of client they are representing. Most importantly he or she must be a well-rounded engineer who has experience in most if not all aspects of municipal engineering including but not limited to:

  • land development and the application review process

SGM is currently seeking an Accounting Manager for our Glenwood Springs, CO office.

SGM is currently seeking an Accounting Manager who will: Perform administrative accounting, planning and supervisory work assisting with the direction of activities in the Accounting Department. Perform work with minimum supervision; recommend and implement improvements for accounting office efficiency. Work under the general supervision of the CFO. Exercise general supervision over other Accounting Department staff. This position is distinguished from the other positions of support staff by the amount of supervisory responsibility and technical responsibility. It is also distinct from the CFO in that this position does not have ultimate overall responsibility for the operations of the Accounting Department.

Minimum qualifications for the successful candidate are:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
  • Strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent client service skills
  • Valid Driver License
  • Organized, fast learner and interested in detail
  • Familiarity and working knowledge in the use of AutoCAD or similar design software
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Additional preferred qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of consulting engineering or environmental science experience
  • EI Certification or ability to obtain in first year of employment
  • Master’s degree in related field
  • Active member of relevant professional organizations
  • Software experience / proficiency
    • AutoCAD, esp. Civil 3D, Revit
    • Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
    • QGIS, AutoCAD MAP
  • Experience preparing specifications and cost estimates
  • Experience supporting projects during the construction phase
