Congratulations to Jacob Rivera and Dana Morgan, this year's recipients of the Steve Westhoff Scholarship sponsored by Schmueser Gordon Meyer.

 

Jacob is a senior at Eagle Valley High School and will be entering the University of Colorado-Boulder engineering program in the fall. Dana is a senior at Gunnison High School and will be entering the Colorado School of Mines engineering program. Both will receive a $1,000 award to apply to their upcoming school year.

SGM recently made Colorado Construction magazine?s Top Colorado Engineers list. SGM, with offices in Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Meeker and Crested Butte, ranked sixth in the Civil Engineers category and 19th overall. Rankings were based on firms? Colorado offices revenue for 2004. SGM acts as the engineer of record for the municipalities of New Castle, Silt, Rifle, Palisade, Rangely, Carbondale, Basalt, Snowmass Village, Granby and Buena Vista.

SGM has landed several new engineering projects on the Western Slope, including a water resources analysis for the Town of Buena Vista, a drainage plan for Mesa County and as needed engineering services for the Town of Palisade.

 

Along with new projects, SGM has added additional talent to their Glenwood Springs? office. Richard Goulding, P.E., joins SGM as a design engineer for the Resort Development team. Prior to joining SGM, he served as a City of Aspen project engineer for five years. Mr. Goulding is currently working on the Brush Creek Trail in Snowmass Village as well as the Solstice resort development project in Mt. Crested Butte.

 

Lee Barger, E.I., with eight years experience in traffic/transportation design and planning, joins SGM?s transportation team. He has extensive experience with intersection analysis and design, traffic control and phasing plans, and signing and striping plans throughout Colorado. Mr. Barger is currently handling the S-Curve Transit and Safety Improvements project for the City of Aspen.

 

Matt Webster, a recent transplant from Jackson Hole, Wyo., joins SGM?s Aspen/Pitkin County team as a design engineer. Mr. Webster, who has a Master?s in Environmental Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, has been handling design of high-end residential infrastructure and is currently working with the Aspen Music Festival and School on their Master Plan.

 

In other SGM news, Erin Radosevich recently earned her Colorado Professional Engineer?s license. Radosevich is a member of SGM?s structural team where she specializes in custom residential framing and design.
