The Western Slope, with its exceptional communities and picturesque landscape, is not without its unique issues.  The following abstracts were presented by SGM engineers at the 2004 and 2005 RMSAWWA/RMWEA Annual Conferences  and highlight key issues affecting our communities.

Water/Wastewater Team members Warren Swanson and Chad Paulson tackle the Stage 2 Disinfectants/Disinfection By-Products Rule and showcase one District's head start on the project.

Jason Ward, SGM's former water resource engineer, examines the effect of the 2002 drought and one Western Slope town's proactive approach in examining their water rights and creating an augmentation plan.

Warren Swanson, SGM Water/Wastewater Team member, looks at a case study of the recent approval by CDPHE for a point-of-use treatment approach for a small, rural community trying to comply with the fluoride MCL.

In this abstract, Warren Swanson examines the approach for a DBP Comprehensive Performance Evaluation (CPE) and associated technical tools currently being developed by USEPA.
